Since day one Lips & Locks have been a big advocate of empowering women; encouraging them to be true to themselves and comfortable in their own skin. An ethos we take with us to every client.
It all began in 2015 from a small flat in Bristol, with one Artist, a basic website and a deep rooted love of helping women feel beautiful.
Over a 5 year journey Lips & Locks has grown into a company that comprises over 10 Artists and have worked on over 500 Weddings.
We are proud to be recommended suppliers at over 15 venues throughout South UK and have worked on several high profile photoshoots.
Our vision for the future of Lips & Locks is to expand into a community of like minded Artists, who share our enthusiasm and passion for the hair + makeup industry throughout the whole of the UK and beyond.
My dad was a cameraman, so growing up visiting film sets as a kid was fairly normal. I always assumed that I would end up in the film industry doing hair + makeup.
My first big break was landing the trainee makeup Artist job on Harry Potter 5. I was 18, fresh out of beauty school and ready to start my career.
This job taught me an awful lot, I had some great times, however it was not for me.
I travelled to Australia where I worked for a skincare brand 'ProActiv'. I developed a huge love of products and learnt the importance of a great skin care regime which I still very much value to this day.
Back in London I honed in on my hair skills by working in a couple of salons, mastering speedy up-dos, understanding the foundations of hair and which products can make or break your creation.
After feeling that I had outgrown the salons, I left with no other job in sight until a friend brought me into the freelance world of Wedding hair + makeup.
Six years later I found myself in the vibrant city of Bristol. I immediately felt at home in the South West and this is where Lips & Locks was born!
I was fed up of seeing very heavy make-ups on social media with elaborate hair do’s and dated styles. I wondered who I would go for if I were getting married?
I wanted to create a space for those everyday women like me who would like to feel amazing yet recognisable.
I started to cross paths with some really talented, down-to-earth Artists who shared my passion for hair + makeup and the impact it can have on a person. This then became my mission for Lips & Locks, to bring together these like minded Artists in a supportive community to help those real women become beautiful Brides!
